Purdue’s Gospel Choir, Heart & Soul in Concert
Our new Music Director, Rhonda Blacklock, is also the Assistant Director at Purdue Musical Organizations, where she leads the Purdue Bells and Heart & Soul. Heart & Soul, a gospel choir, will be joining us on Sunday, March 27 during worship and will also present a concert at 2pm. Mark your calendars now!
Established in 2004, Heart & Soul is the latest addition to the vocal ensembles of Purdue Musical Organizations. A mixed-voice ensemble of 26 singers, Heart & Soul specializes in gospel and contemporary Christian music, sprinkled with an occasional soul or R&B tune. Upbeat, soulful and inspirational – these are fitting descriptives for this dynamic ensemble. Rounding out this ensemble is the specialty group, Soul Sisters, a sextet of women who also specialize in gospel, contemporary and a bit of soul.
Heart and Soul will participate in our worship at 10:30am to give a sampling of their musical style. A concert will be given at 2pm in the Sanctuary for all to enjoy. The concert is free and the public is welcome to attend.
