God's Work. Our Hands. Sunday, Sept. 19
This year we are holding our annual day of service on Sunday, September 19. At the end of the worship service, Pastor will send the volunteers off with a blessing. Volunteers will grab a “to-go” lunch (Subway sandwich, chips, and drink - free will offering), and head out to their volunteer locations. Wear your favorite Christ Lutheran Church t-shirt to worship on the 19th. It will be a “casual Sunday” so volunteers can come dressed ready to work.
We have two excellent opportunities for members to serve. Both will be outdoor opportunities to ensure safety. Details on exact duties will be determined by the needs of our volunteer organizations, but may include landscaping, exterior maintenance, grounds clean-up and more. Children are welcome, with direct adult supervision.
- Lutheran Child and Family Services (20 volunteers): 1525 N. Ritter Ave, Indianapolis. LCFS was founded in 1883 and offers residential and community-based services to families and children. Their mission is “Engaging and Empowering Families and Community with Love, Compassion, Faith, and Support.” LCFS engages with clients and empowers them to develop the opportunities, tools, and skills needed to change the trajectory of their lives.
- So Big Mountain House (20 volunteers): 5900 S. Main St, Whitestown. The So Big Mountain House Maternity home meets the spiritual and physical needs of expectant women and their children. They are a Christ-centered maternity home, connecting expectant mothers and their children with resources to help them develop a better tomorrow.
We hope to increase our number of volunteers from last year and fill all 40 volunteer spots!! To register, use the sign-up genius link below.
