Dialogues on Race
Issues of race, bias, and privilege affect each of us daily, with serious and too-often tragic consequences for us and our neighbors. But it's hard to act unless we can actually talk about these things.
And it's hard to have a conversation unless we know what we mean when we say words like "race" and "privilege". But what happens when we disagree about whether these are real? Or is it fair to say that we bear responsibility for things that happened before we were born, to folks we don't even know? These are very challenging matters, but when we start exploring them in a safe space, we can learn how to discuss them constructively, and discover another side to the story that makes all the difference. Join us in the Luther Room at 9:15am, on Oct 20 and 27, and Nov 3, as we explore these topics with the Dialogues on Race curriculum from Sparkhouse. Matthew DeLoera will be leading the discussion.
